Beacons' Creche & Preschool in Ottawa's Orleans neighbourhood creates a welcoming environment that values each child's unique qualities. Our program follows the Emergent approach, inspired by the HighScope™ model, and is based on the guidelines of E.L.E.C.T. (A framework for Ontario early childhood settings) and H.D.L.H.: Ontario's Pedagogy for Early Years, as well as the Ontario Education Minister’s Policy Statement on Programming and Pedagogy(2015). Our comprehensive program focuses on active involvement and individuality, with experiences in S.T.E.A.M., literacy, numeracy, civic responsibility, health, and wellness. We also offer enrichment programs in music, dance, art, cooking, sports, and games. We believe in values that support holistic development, emphasizing play, inquiry, and exploration.

Seedlings
18 Months to 2.5 Years
The toddler years are a time of incredible growth and development. It's our job to provide children with the support they need to explore their newfound independence and develop their unique voice. By helping them learn to express their feelings in appropriate ways, respond to the emotions of others, and expand their language skills, we can inspire them to show interest in the world around them and engage in imaginative play. As they begin to regulate their behaviour, learn to be part of a group, and understand concepts and relationships, we can encourage them to reach their full potential and become the best versions of themselves.
Sprouts
2.5 Years – 3.5 Years
Get set for an incredible adventure as your little ones take their first steps into the world of of the senior todder room - the Sprouts!! Our innovative and immersive hands-on experiences empower young learners to communicate confidently, stand up for themselves, and absorb knowledge like sponges. With our proven approach, your toddlers will thrive and lay the foundation for a lifetime of success. Join us on this exciting journey of discovery and watch your child blossom into a confident and capable learner!
Explorers
3.5 Years to 4 Years
At our center, we are dedicated to ensuring that your child not only grows and learns but also thrives. Our expert staff is committed to providing age-appropriate activities that ignite your child's curiosity and creativity as they approach school age. We strongly believe that a balanced approach to education is key, which is why we focus on both providing support to help prepare your child for elementary school and encouraging self-motivation and independence.

Adventurers
4 Years to 5 Years
Welcome to "Senior Preschool"!!. As an Adventurer, your child will undergo significant development in various aspects of their life, including emotional, physical, academic, and social. Our planned and project-based lessons aim to enhance their reading, writing, science, technology, and math skills. We also focus on building kindergarten readiness by teaching effective communication, following instructions, and working collaboratively with peers. With our program, your child will be well-prepared to transition into Kindergarten.
Trailblazers
4.5 Years to 6 Years
Our school believes in empowering children to unlock their potential by providing the necessary tools and a safe, loving space to be themselves. With the freedom to explore and the responsibility to be a model, our students are well-equipped to take Elementary school. Our Trailblazers program builds upon the Pre-K curriculum. It encourages children to strengthen their team-building skills and take charge of their learning and development while implementing more structure in their classroom schedules.
